Duties : + Serve as an expert on the Arkansas Mathematics Standards, concentrating on elementary K-5 math standards. + Design, implement, and evaluate statewide professional development for K -12 mathematics teachers, concentrating on elementary grades. + Support the creation of intervention strategies for K-5 students who need additional learning support, utilizing a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS). + Stay up-to-date on content knowledge, current research, and effective practices in mathematics curriculum, instruction, and assessment. + Promote effective practices for implementing the Arkansas Mathematics, Science, and other STEM-based standards, including cross-curricular integration. + Provide supplemental educational services and technical assistance to school districts, concentrating on elementary. + Work with other education specialists, ADE units, organizations, agencies, education service cooperatives, and institutions of higher education to support the vision, mission, goals, and priorities of the ADE. + Analyze performance data to guide instructional practices, ensuring continuous improvement in teaching methods and student learning. + Develop and maintain appropriate working knowledge of federal, state, and agency laws, regulations, and rules that are applicable to the specialist’s job function. + Collect, maintain, summarize and provide records and research data as required by the ADE. + Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. + Additional Minimum Qualifications: K-6 Teaching License as well as experience in an Elementary School setting. Position Information Class Code: E019C Grade: GS09 FLSA Status: EXEMPT Salary Range: $50,222.00 - $72,822.00 Summary The Public School Program Advisor is responsible for assisting in the development, monitoring, and evaluation of educational programs in schools. This position is governed by state and federal laws and school board and agency/institution policy. Functions Provides supplemental educational services that are consistent with the instruction and content used by the local school district and aligned to Arkansas' Curriculum Frameworks. Designs, implements, and evaluates program compliance and effectiveness of training, curricula, and related educational services in local school districts and intermediate and regional units. Conducts workshops or seminars to present information critical to specialized program area and provides in-service training. Provides technical assistance to school officials by interpreting laws or policies, answering questions, or resolving problems relative to assigned program areas. Researches and analyzes demographic, labor market, and technological data, and makes recommendations on education programs to meet changing needs. Acts as a liaison with education and public interest groups to inform them of departmental activities and identify needs. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in public administration, educational administration, education, or related field; plus five years of experience in education, public school administration, or related field.
