The Compliance Division oversees all facets of tax processing, issuances of business permits, and alcohol regulation throughout the state. From the receipt of individual and business tax returns and payments, audits and collections, to routine compliance inspections and regulatory verification of alcohol-licensed establishments, this division is tasked with upholding, enforcing and educating taxpayers and licensees on Iowa’s laws and regulations. The duties of this positions include: + Lead the Corporate Income Tax Team for the effective administration of C-corporation, S-corporation, partnership, franchise, and business tax credits + Responsible for employee hiring, mentoring, training, and maximizing performance. Champion customer service as a department priority + Coordinate corporate tax program management in collaboration with audit program developers, program managers, and data analysts + Stay current with Iowa tax law and administrative rules for corporate and pass-through income taxes, and ensure applicable updates are made for staff training and program management + Analyze program data reports to determine effectiveness Preference will be given to candidates with the following: + Experience writing procedural manuals, processes and procedures + Experience evaluating and interpreting data + Ability to evaluate complex work processes and make recommendations Essential Functions: + Provide Leadership of all personnel working Corporate Income Tax operations + Provide program management leadership for administration of Corporate tax filing and payment requirements of taxpayers + Analyze program data and help make data decision regarding audit and exam programs + Drive continuous improvement and ongoing communication regarding Corporate Income tax operations Employer Highlights: The Iowa Department of Revenue is a well-respected employer. Four years of full-time work experience work in program administration, development, management, or operations; and b. A combination of a total of four years of education and full-time experience (as described in part a), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work in any field equals one year of full-time experience. Graduation from the Iowa Certified Public Manager Program is also equivalent to one year of full-time experience or education. 4) All of the following (a, b, and c): a. Two years of full-time work experience work in program administration, development, management, or operations; and b. A combination of a total of four years of education and full-time experience (as described in part a), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university course work equals one year of full-time experience; and c. A combination of a total of two years of graduate-level education and full-time experience (as described in part a), where twenty-four semester hours of accredited graduate college or university course work in a public-service-related area (e.g., public or business administration, social work, law, education, engineering) equals one year of full-time experience. Graduation from the Iowa Certified Public Manager Program is also equivalent to one year of full-time experience or education. 5) Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes one year of full-time work as a Public Service Supervisor or comparable specific management-level position.
