Course: Public Speaking

This basic course in oral communication uses focused content to practice the principles of effective oral presentation. The lectures, speaking assignments, and all written work will acquaint the student with the theory, practice, and necessary technological literacy required for effective message building and presentation.

What You Will Do:

Facilitate classroom lecture and discussionsEngage students in learning course objectives and topicsAssess student performance and mentor success in the classroomProvide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University

PhD in Communication ORJuris Doctorate (JD) ORRelated terminal degreeOR Master’s in Communication OREnglish ORRhetoric ORMFA/Master’s in Theatre ORMaster’s in Business Administration (MBA)All instructors must have public speaking experience or experience teaching public speakingExceptions may be granted to individuals with a Master’s in any field possessing 18 graduate credits in Communication and substantial teaching experience
