Public Staff Tax Accountant
Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Public Staff Tax Accountant in PARK RIDGE, Illinois. The role involves providing tax preparation and compliance, financial analysis, and advisory services within the consulting industry. The selected candidate will also be responsible for client interaction, audit support, record keeping, and software proficiency. Responsibilities: • Prepare and review individual and business tax returns in compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations. • Communicate with clients to collect necessary financial information and address inquiries. • Analyze financial statements to identify tax planning opportunities and optimize clients' financial outcomes. • Stay informed about changes in tax laws and update clients accordingly. • Provide strategic tax advice to clients based on their financial situations. • Assist clients in developing tax-efficient strategies. • Conduct tax research to stay ahead of industry trends and support advisory services. • Prepare and organize documentation for tax audits and represent clients during these audits. • Maintain accurate and organized financial records for clients. • Utilize advanced tax preparation software and leverage technology for efficient service delivery. Requirements • Proficiency in Income Tax Accounting, Income Tax Compliance, and Income Tax Return • Experience with Accounting Control and Accounting Functions • Familiarity with Balance Sheet Reconciliation • Proficient in using QuickBooks • Experience with Intuit Lacerte and Lacerte Tax Software • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy • Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines • Familiarity with current financial regulations and accounting policies • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred but not mandatory • Prior experience in a similar role is an added advantage.
