Your New Role…

The PR & Publicity Graduate Interns will support Warner Bros. Discovery teams to maximise engagement in their films, TV shows, games and programmes. They will also work on our Internal and Corporate Communications Events and Activations.

There are a variety of Graduate roles within the PR & Publicity division, therefore the below job description is not exhaustive of all activities you may undertake during your internship.

Your Role Accountabilities…Researching current trends and activations within the industry.   Analyse competitor publicity activities and campaigns Daily monitoring of industry news and identifying opportunities for innovation and creativity.  Work closely with the project publicists to ensure that all materials are up to date and in line with the Publicity strategy.Co-ordination and organisation of all publicity activities, including press interview access, set visits, premieres, screenings, film festivals and unique stunted activities.Work closely and establish effective working relationships with the local publicity teams across our 40 European markets and the international publicity teams in Home Office. Work cross-divisionally with the marketing, digital, creative, exhibitor and brand partnership teams. Support CNN Editorial Officer in day-to-day tasks, including promotion of key interviews and reports to UK and regional press and on exclusive breaking news.Support Press Officer on features/commercial side researching, drafting and distributing press materials on CNN International programming (particularly around CNN’s Africa feature programmes).Driving the creation and circulation of media cuttings reports and suggesting innovative ways the PR team can best display its successes, including presentations and coverage reports.Help to develop the UK & Ireland internal communications tools (newsletters, emails) and manage relevant platforms (Workplace) with information flow, content and engagement opportunities ensuring staff are kept up-to-date with relevant news and information. Support the planning and delivery of leadership briefings, Town Halls, staff engagement opportunities and external speaker sessions, coordinating all relevant departments (tech/AV/facilities/creative) to ensure smooth implementation. Daily news and trend monitoring, development of comms planning tools ranging from announcement schedules, speaker and event opportunities, milestones and campaign trackers. Inform the press office of live issues in the industry along with key opportunities for WBD UK & Ireland through research and news monitoring.   

Qualifications & Experience…You must be a recent university graduate, having graduated no earlier than July 2024.  Proven strong, accurate writing ability, with excellence for grammar and punctuation. Good copywriting skills and the ability to research and draft releases.Well organised and show excellent attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise workload and use time effectively.   Understanding of social media tools especially X, Instagram, and Facebook. Good interpersonal skills with the ability and confidence to communicate with people at all levels. An interest in the film, entertainment and media industry. Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.   

The Internship...Salary: £28,000Contract Length: 10-12 monthsStart Date: Likely to be 8th September 2024You will gain hands-on experience working on business-critical projects. You will have access to personal and professional development courses, executive speakers’ series, special screenings and more. You will be part of our Early Talent network of over 100 interns & apprentices, meaning you will have an important support network of other students, graduates and apprentices and plenty of opportunities to socialise!  

Next Steps… Stage 1: Submit your CV as soon as possible (we will close adverts when we have enough applications). Stage 2: For eligible candidates, you will be invited to complete a written questionnaire in HireVue.Stage 3: Pre-recorded video interviews via HireVue will be sent out, to be completed in April. Stage 4: Assessment Centres & Interviews will take place May-June.

Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
