Control Room Superintendent

Barrick is looking for a Control Room Superintendent to join our Processing team. This role will be responsible for overseeing the continuous, safe, and efficient operation of the Process Plant from the control room. This role ensures that all process parameters are optimized, troubleshooting is carried out effectively, and plant personnel are coordinated to maintain operational excellence. The superintendent will lead a team of control room operators and process coordinators, ensuring adherence to safety, environmental, and production targets. Additionally, the role involves the implementation of short interval control, overseeing process coordinators, and implementing and maintaining advanced process control systems to enhance plant performance and efficiency.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical, Chemical, or Process Engineering or a related field (preferred). Strong knowledge of pressure oxidation technology, autoclave operations, and refractory ore processing. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to operational challenges. Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in a high-pressure hydrometallurgical processing environment, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or control room leadership role. Experience in implementing and optimizing short interval control (SIC) strategies. Experience in implementing and maintaining advanced process control (APC) systems.
