**JOB DESCRIPTION** The Supervisor Pulmonary is responsible for the oversight and coordination of business, administrative and general office activities. Provides direct supervision for assigned staff, including but not limited to contract management, financial and/or administrative staff and clerical staff. Ensures the successful coordination and delivery of business activity and service within the department. **RESPONSIBILITIES** The Pulmonary function lab supervisor will have overall responsibility for the operation, quality testing, budget and administration of pulmonary function laboratories at Mount Sinai West and Mount Sinai Morningside. They will report to the Medical Director of Pulmonary Function. The supervisor will require strong interpersonal skills to support technicians, appointment clerks, and may provide some teaching for pulmonary trainees in the technical aspects of pulmonary function. The successful candidate would have strong knowledge of the basics and standards for pulmonary function testing, including cardiopulmonary exercise test and methacholine challenge. If qualified, they will perform arterial blood gas testing. They will train and monitor technicians performance ensuring the high quality of testing. The candidate will have a hands-on approach and step in as necessary to personally perform pulmonary function. The candidate will ensure efficient operations, optimize work flow and prepare performance reports as per the medical director. The supervisor will assist in preparing budgets for Pulmonary function test operations and recommend upgrades and or new equipment as may be required from time to time. The supervisor will have responsibility for delivery of service, and will on occasion be required to trouble shoot issues with pulmonary function equipment and data reporting. In collaboration with the medical director the supervisor will prepare agendas for regular staff meetings to review, procedure volume, trends, and patient satisfaction. Pulmonary Function Supervisor may on occasion be required to address patient complaints or issues and alert the medical director if necessary. The salary range for this role is $71,713.00 - $107,569.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need.
