Purchased Material Inspector (PMI) – Temporary Role – 11 month Contract

Then come and join our global team as a Quality Inspector at our site facility in Swords, Dublin and/or our external Warehouse, Swords, Dublin.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

To provide day to day inspection expertise in the areas of various commodities such as Plastics, Fluidic and Pneumatic Controls, Sheet Metal & Machined Parts, Cable Assemblies and Electromechanical Assemblies.To complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and lot inspection activities. Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement test, dispositioning defective products for rework, and confirming re-work.Able to determine acceptance, rejection of materials presented for inspection. Document inspection results by completing quality inspection reports and logs, and correctly and carefully inputting data into the quality database. Alerting and assisting the Supplier Quality Engineering department with failure and nonconforming material data recording and reporting.Be a team member of the quality department and support Production, Engineering and other internal departments when requested to check specifications and tolerances. Assess Supplier capability to meet quality requirements to ensure supplier processes are an effective fit with Siemens requirements.

Your qualifications and experience:

Ideally with 2 years quality experience leading a team and working within a quality environment.The incumbent will have a Leaving Cert or equivalent and a third level qualification is an advantage.Experience of general Quality inspection activities with a background in problem solving in a dynamic regulated environment with tight deadlines is an advantage.Strong working knowledge of operations within a Quality Department is required.SAP experience required. 

Your attributes and skills:

General Inspection to Siemens drawings and Commercial off the shelf components, inspect against vendors item or model number.A strong ability to work within a team environment and to utilize own initiative to solve daily problems with the team. The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to collaborate closely with procurement, warehouse logistics and production team leaders to ensure internal customer needs are met.Experience in Inspection Methodologies such as; Fabricated/Machined Metal Mechanical/Visual inspection, Precision linear measurement, non-contact measurement, Molded and Machined plastics inspection and measurement is an advantage.Excellent Communication skills both oral and written – Advanced
