Job Description
David Weekley Homes is seeking a Purchasing Administrator to join our Dallas Purchasing Department that's based out of our Division Office in Carrollton, TX. You will enjoy a rewarding teambuilding experience as you collaborate with sales consultants, construction and purchasing professionals.
Experience in home building for this role is not required, however a desire to learn and willingness to support the Team by taking responsibilities and acting on time-sensitive needs is critical.
Job Responsibilities:
+ Work with the Purchasing Manager to lead the Purchasing/Estimating team
+ Perform vendor research and selection to enhance profitability, reduce operating costs and boost efficiency
+ Maintain cordial working relationships with vendors and supervise vendor activities
+ Interface effectively with construction field supervisors, subcontractors, and management
+ Place extra orders for Builders with Suppliers/Vendors
+ Conduct ongoing market research to identify beneficial purchase agreements and potential vendors
+ Resolve invoice problems with Suppliers/Vendors
+ Maintain Supplier/Vendor pricing in the purchasing system
+ Prepare weekly and monthly reports as necessary
+ Maintain Supplier/Vendor information
Qualifications
+ Purchasing experience is preferred
+ Proven ability to manage many moving parts in a professional setting with multiple ongoing priorities
+ Clear and concise communication with internal and external customers
+ Ability to work efficiently and competently with numerous interruptions
+ Efficient and effective follow-up and organization skills to meet and exceed deadlines
+ Demonstrated experience taking initiative to get things done and accomplish tasks without having to be asked several times
+ Past experience in the home building or construction industry is a plus
+ Positive, enthusiastic attitude and strong work ethic
+ Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and basic computer knowledge. Able to pick up software quickly.
