For over 30 years RP Lighting + Fans, formerly Royal Pacific, has been a valued supplier of lighting and fans to multiple markets throughout the United States and Canada. Established in 1990, RP specializes in the multi-family builder and showroom markets, and has rapidly grown to serve light commercial construction, mixed-use, and national account markets.

RP Lighting + Fans is currently seeking the right individual to fill an immediate need for a Purchasing Agent in support of leading our inventory and procurement efforts to match supply and demand to support our growing business.

In this role, you will provide support to our business by purchasing products to ensure inventory service level goals are met. Core responsibilities include ordering inventory materials needed to stock each distribution center, focusing on our global supply chain products, and maintaining our system with updated inventory, supplier and product content. Prior buyer or purchasing experience is preferred. This is a hybrid position with a blend of both at home and office work If you have excellent customer service skills, strong critical thinking skills and experience juggling multiple requests while still meeting urgent deadlines, this is a great opportunity to grow!

Location: This is a Hybrid role based out of Newport News, VA, Albuquerque, NM or Atlanta, GA locations, in accordance with company flex schedule; 3 days office / 2 days remote.

Primary ResponsibilitiesCompile and maintain information and records to prepare purchase orders Work closely with customers and individual locations to ensure purchasing related questions/issues are addressedContact vendors and suppliers for quotations and maintain key relationshipsAid in resolving payable discrepanciesWork within team setting, managing high volume of email requests via OutlookManage file maintenance for products bought from the vendor, including pricing Manage system settings governing buy quantities to achieve company goals for inventory and service levelsExpedite purchase orders to meet customer needs Perform all work in accordance with established safety standards and policies, ensuring the safety of the associate and othersDisplay high levels of customer service working with internal customers

Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience, preferredPrior purchasing or buying experience, preferred Strong computer proficiency including use of Microsoft applications and navigating multiple software systems, requiredIntermediate proficiency with Excel, such as use of v-lookups, concatenate and pivot tables, a plusStrong interpersonal & customer service skills and a team-centric mentality Ability to be flexible, adaptable and multitasking skills needed, including the ability to juggle multiple, urgent requestsStrong written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate across all levels of the organizationDemonstrated ability to manage details and accurately meet the deliverables of multiple requests

Pay Range:

$4,124.70 - $9,075.00

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
