The Purchasing Agent will be a product expert, interacting with the Sales team and suppliers to meet our customer needs.  The Purchasing Agent will work closely with suppliers on pricing, inventory availability, new items, and complementary/substitute items.

Responsibilities

You will:

Manage the creation and maintenance of all items for assigned vendor linesMaintain a clear line of communication with our suppliers and Sales teamNegotiate and resolve supplier performance issues impacting costs and customer service.Partner with Sales to gain insight into customer needsUtilize existing tools and systems to analyze and take action on current inventory positions and trendsAchieve in-stock service level targets, response times, and inventory need datesContinue improvement of KPIs for out-of-stock items and inventory turnsAssist in defining and reporting key performance metricsContinuously monitor demand forecasting to ensure accuracy Refine existing tools and methods to continually improve forecasts and processes Identify, select, and purchase the items to fit the needs of our customers Qualifications

You have:

A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience 3+ years of buying and inventory/supply chain experience requiredProficiency in Microsoft ExcelA collaborative approach and the ability to build effective relationships
