Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Purchasing Agent in Louisville, Kentucky. This role is within the industry of manufacturing and distributing products for people who are blind or have low vision. The selected candidate will be in charge of the purchasing process, ensuring the adherence to all procurement policies and procedures and maintaining information that continually monitors and reduces costs and inventory.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the purchasing process, making sure all procurement policies and procedures are followed.
• Establish and maintain long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Utilize ERP system to prepare purchase orders, verify terms and specifications.
• Conduct research to identify potential vendors, evaluate findings, and make independent decisions on procurement issues to reduce cost impact and improve delivery.
• Negotiate contracts and place purchase orders for all material requirements at optimal prices and terms of purchase.
• Handle negotiations with vendors regarding late deliveries of products and materials, shortages, rejected receipts, equipment deliveries, and contracting services.
• Interact with all departments to determine their purchasing needs or issues, including identifying costs for budgeting purposes and solutions to resolve problems.
• Maintain records of all transactions, vendor quotes, negotiations, contracts, purchase orders, receipts, and resolutions.
• Authorize payments for quality receipts compared to orders.
• Set up and maintain new vendor files and part(s) history in the ERP system.
• Review vendor scorecard and identify alternate sources, as necessary. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required
• Experience with Epicor is a must
• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is essential
• Proficiency in using ERP Solutions is desired
• Knowledge of Great Plains (GPAC) is beneficial
• Experience with About Time software is advantageous
• Ability to perform Accounting Functions is mandatory
• Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) is needed
• Knowledge of Budget Processes is desirable
• Experience in Buying Processes is required
• Skills in Vendor Management are crucial
