Description We are looking for a diligent Purchasing Agent/ Sr Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team located in Ossining, New York. You will be responsible for performing specialized clerical work that includes the preparation and processing of bids and purchase orders. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities: • Compile and prepare specifications for supplies, equipment, and services based on purchase requests. • Manage and maintain a comprehensive directory of vendors, and handle communication regarding pricing, merchandise shipments, and payments. • After receiving budget requests, prepare and distribute purchase orders. • Keep accurate records, manually or through software packages, of purchase orders, encumbrances, packing receipts, and payments. • Analyze bids received, summarize information, determine the lowest bidder, and recommend bid awards. • Regularly check catalogue or vendor prices and verify the cost of items ordered. • Ensure the accuracy of budget lines charged and check for sufficient funding in account. • Handle accounting functions and accounts payable processes. • Oversee buying processes and manage budget processes.
