Description We are offering a contract-to-permanent employment opportunity in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, for a Purchasing Agent. As part of our team, you will be expected to manage the procurement of goods and services in accordance with local procedures. You will also be tasked with maintaining accurate financial records and serving as a liaison between our organization and vendors. Responsibilities: • Oversee the preparation of documents necessary for the procurement of goods, equipment, and services, aligning with the regulations of North Carolina and our organization's procedures • Develop specifications for ordered materials and construction projects, and solicit bids from vendors • Evaluate services and processes to make recommendations on the most efficient and effective method of execution • Maintain strong relationships with vendors, staying updated on current products and price schedules • Analyze requests to determine the most efficient and economical method of processing • Ensure the accuracy and maintenance of the organization's internal contract documents • Discuss legal and business matters with customers • Offer advice and guidance to various teams regarding contract generation • Maintain excellent relationships with clients to ensure their needs are met • Support and advise on potential new business opportunities • Identify opportunities for business process improvement and devise plans for implementation • Prepare RFPs, RFBs, and RFQs. Requirements • Proficient in executing purchasing activities in a timely and cost-effective manner • Experience in managing a purchasing department and collaborating with various teams • Demonstrated knowledge of purchasing functions and their implementation • Proven skills in purchasing management, including negotiation and vendor relationships • Ability to select and purchase materials based on quality, price, and delivery speed • Expertise in purchasing planning, with a focus on budgeting and forecasting • Familiarity with purchasing policies and ability to ensure their adherence • Experience in purchasing procurement, including sourcing, evaluation, and contract negotiation • Proficiency in using purchasing software and systems for efficient management • Ability to devise and implement effective purchasing strategies for cost reduction • Familiar with different purchasing systems and able to adapt to new software quickly • Willingness to support purchasing activities across the organization, including training and guidance.
