This is a hybrid position that will require 3 days per week (Tuesday-Thursday) in our Philadelphia office location. 

Job Description

The Purchasing Agent will play a critical role in supporting our e-commerce and retail operations by ensuring our products are always in stock and available to our passionate powersports community. You will collaborate closely with our Merchandising and Demand Planning teams to build a well-balanced and compelling product assortment while leveraging data-driven insights to make strategic inventory decisions. Your focus will be on building and maintaining strong vendor relationships to maximize profitability and support our omnichannel growth.

Our Purchasing Agent Will:

Generate and issue purchase orders to suppliers, manage purchasing records, and confirm order details, including quantities, pricing, and lead times.Proactively address supplier performance issues to minimize impacts on costs, customer service, or inventory availability.Monitor outstanding and back orders, apply expediting techniques, and ensure timely delivery to prevent business interruptions.Assess vendor capabilities, develop alternative sources to optimize costs and reduce risks, and consistently evaluate performance.Partner with Merchandising and Accounting teams to maintain accurate pricing records across multiple vendorsWork closely with Vendor Compliance Team Members in our Fulfillment Centers to reconcile inbound shipping errors. Research potential short shipment situations, collaborate with Accounting to address discrepancies, and provide clear communication on issues and action plans.Develop strong relationships across teams and with external partners to support purchasing goals and drive business success.

Qualifications

Our Next Purchasing Agent Has:

2+ years of experience in Purchasing/Procurement, preferably in an e-commerce or retail environmentProficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google SheetsExperience working with an ERP or purchasing system Basic understanding of inventory management principles and supply chain concepts.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work cross-functionally with merchandising, demand planning, and vendor teams.Strong negotiation skills with suppliers to manage costs and ensure timely deliveries.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
