Description
We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Purchasing Agent in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The individual will play a crucial role in our supply chain operations, focusing on materials planning and logistics. This role involves managing vendor relations, overseeing purchase orders, and contributing to the optimization of our inventory systems.
Responsibilities
• Engage with vendors to confirm the schedules of purchase orders and ensure the accuracy of delivery timelines.
• Regularly communicate with internal teams regarding any changes or delays in delivery schedules.
• Accurately enter purchase orders into the system, with a primary focus on production supply items such as tape, ribbon, labels, and boxes.
• Collaborate with the warehouse team to effectively manage and organize inventory.
• Regularly utilize POS systems and NetSuite to generate reports, analyze data, and investigate discrepancies.
• Conduct physical inventory verification in the warehouse to ensure accuracy and resolve any variances.
• Support the development of improved systems and automation to prevent material shortages.
• Aid in the establishment of a minimum and maximum inventory replenishment system to prevent gaps or surplus in essential materials.
• Assist with the organization and cleanup of data in NetSuite for accurate and reliable reporting.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to create a streamlined scheduling process.
Requirements • Proven experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar role
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential
• Familiarity with NetSuite software or similar ERP systems
• Strong understanding of supply chain logistics
• Experience in purchasing materials for various departments or projects
• Knowledge of accounts payable (AP) processes
• Familiarity with buying processes, including negotiation and order placement
• Understanding of budget processes and ability to adhere to financial guidelines
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Attention to detail and critical thinking abilities
