Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a skilled Purchasing Analyst in the Wholesale Distribution industry. Located in Monroe, North Carolina, this role involves managing purchasing activities, maintaining records, and evaluating supply and demand in a dynamic supply chain environment.
Responsibilities
• Manage purchasing activities and ensure efficient operations
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for planning and calculations, and SAP S4/Hana for record keeping
• Evaluate supply and demand outlooks for raw materials and finished goods
• Make purchasing decisions based on evaluations and supply chain volatility
• Maintain accurate records of purchased materials and their suppliers
• Monitor intercompany and external manufacturing activities
• Oversee quality training and maintenance of records
• Handle complex purchasing activities for commodities and raw materials
• Coordinate with global supply chain to manage existing suppliers and raw material inventory
• Create and manage purchase requisitions as needed. Requirements • Proficiency in buying processes, with a solid understanding of purchasing materials.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Knowledge of global supply chain management to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement.
• Ability to maintain relationships with existing suppliers to facilitate negotiations and problem-solving.
• Experience with raw material inventory management, ensuring availability and minimizing surplus.
• Familiarity with SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for efficient process management.
• Capability to create purchase orders in line with company policies and budget constraints.
• Experience in managing purchase requisitions from various departments, ensuring timely fulfillment.
• Understanding of purchased materials management, including quality control, storage, and distribution.
• Knowledge of purchasing materials in a wholesale distribution setting, with an emphasis on cost-effectiveness and quality.
