Primary Function
The Purchasing and Freight Coordinator will lead all purchasing activities for the Ontario, California facility in addition to leading the shipping and logistics process for the facility. This role will have a matrix reporting relationship to both the site operations leader as well as the NAWT supply chain team.
Responsibilities
Purchasing
+ Responsible for the management, coordination, and/or administration of this manufacturing site for specific sourcing activities.
+ Ensures all Global Procurement guidelines and procedures are followed while working with manufacturing site personnel and suppliers on both new and existing goods and services.
+ Responsible for the supervision of all site procurement activities.
+ Maintains excellent communication and rapport with the site operation leadership concerning ongoing use of purchased goods and services.
+ Responsible for attending appropriate site operations and facility planning meetings to understand the needs and requirements of the AOS facility and to coordinate and leverage optimum sourcing opportunities through other AOS facilities.
+ Ensures the maintenance of accurate source lists, purchasing information records, quota arrangements, pricing conditions, contracts, and scheduling agreements within.
+ Develops a high-level understanding of parts and services used in relevant products, and in support of the manufacturing operations.
Logistics
+ Coordinates the document preparation and shipping of all orders.
+ Manages transportation claims and refunds.
+ Coordinates the production, preparation and shipping of all orders.
+ Supports coordinators with manual shipping documentation as needed.
+ Manages special accounts (dropship, next day air, etc)
+ Manages all stock transfers between other AOS facilities
+ Knowledge in all modes of Transportation-TL, LTL, Ocean, Air, Small Package
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
+ Strong written and oral communication skills.
+ Other Duties as assigned
Qualifications
+ Associates Degree, or Bachelors degree in business or related field preferred
+ 2+ years of purchasing and/or supply chain experience
+ Knowledge in all modes of Transportation-TL, LTL, Ocean, Air, Small Package
+ Ability to work well in a matrixed organization supporting both site operations and supply chain
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
+ Strong written and oral communication skills
Education
Associate Degree in Related Field
