Purchasing and Storeroom Manager

This position is responsible for managing the Buyers, and Storeroom Supervisor in support of the Riceboro, GA Mill purchasing and storeroom activities, manage and control inventory, support mill operations via storeroom optimization. This will entail setting, measuring, and reporting KPI’s around spend by supplier and supplier performance and ensuring compliance.

Responsibility/Duties:

Supports and fosters safety and environmental compliance Understands and implements safe designs, safe work practices, and safe work environments Provides leadership to salaried Buyers and Storeroom Supervisor in support of hourly Storekeepers Ability to build reporting for purchasing KPI’s, run small bids without supervision and carry out management or reorder points

Manages storeroom logistics and inventory management.  Ability to assist with inventory/storeroom support of projects for implementation.

Oversees kitting of jobs, job receipt, receipt of purchased parts, and resolution of issues when necessary Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable law Ability to communicate employee requirements, interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Communicate company-wide announcements and keep employees informed about company policy or changes to policies Responsible for adherence to quality assurance program Monitor employees for compliance to company safety policies, use of tools, and personal protective equipment. Performs root cause analysis to eliminate problems and keeps orderly work areas Oversite of work flow, ensuring efficiency and assigning additional tasks when necessary. Ability to collaborate, partner and influence in cooperative relationship with other departments Assists with maintaining schedule for hourly coverage for department Understands Union Labor Agreement and ensures compliance

Qualifications/Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or comparable logistics degree Ability to lead a team, hire, and develop talent 4 years of leading people and industrial manufacturing experience. Possess strong communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills. The ability to achieve results by influencing others and supporting the overall business. Experience with managing maintenance activities including creating, planning, scheduling, and executing
