Job Title: Purchasing Assistant
Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to support our procurement team. The successful candidate will assist in sourcing and evaluating suppliers, processing purchase orders, and maintaining accurate records of all purchasing activities. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with suppliers and internal teams.

ResponsibilitiesAssist in sourcing and evaluating suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions.Follow up with client communication.Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure adequate stock.Communicate with suppliers to confirm order details, delivery schedules, and resolve any issues.Support the Purchasing Manager in negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers.Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and pricing.Assist in preparing reports on purchasing activities and performance metrics.Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures in all purchasing activities.Essential SkillsExperience in purchasing, supply chain, or procurement.Proficiency in preparing and processing purchase orders.Strong inventory management skills.Proficient in data entry and maintaining accurate records.Excellent customer support and order entry skills.Experience with ERP systems (e.g., CISPRO, Oracle).Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.Strong communication skills for supplier and client interactions.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma.Office experience is essential.Experience in the light industrial or manufacturing industry is a plus.Experience in customer service, administrative support, and logistics.Experience in picking orders.Work Environment

The purchasing team reports to the Purchasing Manager and consists of a small, close-knit group. This family-owned company, now in its third generation, promotes a fun and engaging work culture. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
