Overview

SIG is seeking an associate to join our Purchasing and Procurement team at our headquarters, just minutes from Center City Philadelphia.  In this role, you will leverage your customer service and communication skills to facilitate the procurement of technical and business related assets across the firm.   You will work directly with both business and technology teams to acquire and evaluate their purchasing needs, make recommendations and process their requests. Requests may be filled through the use of existing inventory and/or the purchase of new equipment or services.  You will work directly with existing vendors, as well as research potential new vendors when necessary.

In this role, you will:

Communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization to determine requirements for purchases assist with budget preparation as neededObtain and evaluate quotes for computer hardware, software, peripherals and other related company purchasesMonitor & process software and equipment maintenance renewal requestsReview requisitions, purchase orders and other documentation for accuracyPlace orders and ensure timely delivery of items to the appropriate end user(s)Process purchase orders after delivery for accounts payableWork directly with vendors to place orders; research new vendors and products as necessaryAsset tag equipment including database entry, tracking and physical count inventory requirements; maintain ReQlogic catalog items, Great Plains inventory items, and Great Plains vendor information to ensure accuracyMove/transport products and supplies, including serving as a back-up for the stockroom associate, as needed
What we're looking for
Minimum of one year of co-op, internship and/or professional experience in a corporate business environment required; experience in a purchasing or related role preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office suite; Word and Excel requiredMust demonstrate strong communication (verbal and written) as well as teambuilding skillsSuperior organizational skills  and attention to detail requiredAbility to lift/move objects in excess of 50 pounds requiredBachelors degree preferred; experience may substitute for educationAn interest in technology and the procurement of technology assets (such as servers, desktops, network, telecommunications, hardware components and software licenses) preferred
