Overview

The Purchasing Clerk purchases production materials daily and ensures its delivery in a timely manner. This position reports directly to the Supply Chain Manager and liaises frequently with multiple departments and suppliers.

What you will do:

Analyzes reports for on hand product quantitiesNegotiates to get components we are short of to avoid missed ship datesAnalyzes reports sent from corporate regarding specific components pertaining to possible shortages or overstockingTracks shipments through various web sites and ensure that overseas containers are delivered on timeActively involve in full inventory countsGenerates purchase orders for componentsForwards intercompany orders for materials to salesAdvises suppliers of discrepancies and rectifyChanges order statusPrint appropriate reports to identify outstanding purchasing orders and pending status purchasing orders to avoid missed shipmentsConfirms order arrival eta’s to plan appropriatelyCosts quoting and purchasing for special order materials for sales departmentWorks with suppliers to advise of payment status or outstanding paymentsOther duties as assigned.

What you will need:

Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and manage time efficientlyGreat organizational skillsExcellent MC Office knowledge and experiencedStrong communicator, verbal and writtenMC office –Liaise with receiving inventory control, sales, productionCandidates with two years hands-on experience in a strong Customer Service oriented environment.Preferred 2 – 4 years in a purchasing role in a manufacturing environment.Familiar with a variety of the fields’ concepts, practices, and procedures.Strong interpersonal skills and problem resolution are critical to success.Must command good reading, writing, computational, analytical and listening skills.Independent work required.Must be computer literate and have knowledge of current software applications utilized for controlling inventory and planning functions.Must be sensitive and adaptable to internal and external customer demands.Working knowledge of procedures, work instructions.Must be team oriented.

The rate of pay for this position begins at an annualized salary of $56,000 (for a 40-hour work week) + benefits.  Base pay may increase depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience.   This information is specific to Moreno Valley, CA and may not be applicable to other locations.
