Description Robert Half is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Clerk to support procurement operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will manage purchase orders, maintain vendor relationships, track inventory, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services. This role is vital in maintaining smooth supply chain operations and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. This is a contract to hire position with one of our clients in the Columbus, OH area. Key Responsibilities: + Process purchase orders and maintain accurate records of transactions. + Monitor stock levels and forecast purchasing needs based on inventory demand. + Communicate and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods. + Address any discrepancies with orders, invoices, or deliveries. + Assist in vendor selection and negotiations to secure the best terms and prices. + Update and manage purchasing documentation and maintain accurate inventory records. + Collaborate with internal teams to understand procurement requirements and resolve supply issues. + Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and industry best practices. Requirements Qualifications & Skills: + High school diploma or GED required; an associate’s degree in business or supply chain management is a plus. + 1+ years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role preferred. + Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with procurement software is a bonus. + Good communication and negotiation skills. + Ability to work independently and within a team while managing multiple priorities. + Knowledge of inventory management principles is an advantage.
