Job Description:
Overview
The Purchasing Intern will be responsible for purchasing transactions and maintaining inventories of materials and equipment.
The Purchasing Intern is a full time 5 days a week, onsite role in Columbus, Ohio. Remote work is not available.
Internship Start Date: May 12, 2025
You will be trained on the Operations floor, working alongside team members in our manufacturing, distribution and customer service teams in order to see first-hand the scope of our organization.
After your training, you will be moved into your department and be assigned a Supervisor. Supervisors will direct your day to day activities and be your key contact for non-daily activities and overall guidance. You will be exposed to multiple projects and be issued daily tasks to complete towards those projects.
Internship End Date: August 1, 2025
We will conduct an Exit Interview and get final feedback from Interns on the program.
Responsibilities
Work with the team and vendors to improve the supply chain
Manage projects related to supply chain and cost reduction
Review orders for accuracy and verify that materials, equipment and stock are not available from current inventories
Enter data for production scheduling, stock replenishment/relocation and inventory adjustments
Use analytical skills and experience to leverage spreadsheets to optimize inventory and supply chain performance
Organize, problem solve, and multi-task to manage competing priorities and related details in a time sensitive manufacturing business environment
Qualifications
Students enrolled in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Economics or related field
Previous supply chain work-related skill, knowledge, or experience specifically in purchasing and/or inventory systems preferred
Accuracy and attention to detail
Must possess strong organizational skills and have the ability to handle multiple projects and other daily assigned tasks in a timely manner
Goals of Internship
Know what skills you will need post-graduation (software programs/communication methods)
Develop the skills needed for the internship and post-graduation
Hone the skills you already have to succeed
Be a part of Department meetings
Learn about other business functions and how departments collaborate
Complete a 10-week project and present to the Leadership team and other interns

Pay Schedule: Semi-monthly on 15th and last day of the month
