The “Purchasing Lead” is responsible for managing Direct and Indirect purchasing activities and commodities for Cepheid India and make a significant impact to the organization. This position will be responsible to set up the purchasing and commodity process, develop strategies, build standard work and sustain processes. Will have great opportunities within Cepheid and Danaher group as we establish the commodities and then transfer and implement the learnings with other Danaher Operating Companies.
This position is part of the Global Supply Chain Management and will be located in Bangalore manufacturing site.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
+ Responsible for developing and implementing commodity Strategy for all Direct and Indirect Commodities across Cepheid India – Plastics, Metals, Reagents, Chemicals, Packaging, MRO, Travel, Hotels, Car Rentals, HR, FMS, Marketing, MICE, Office Supplies, Giftings and all other Business Services.
+ Execute PR to PO process and normal purchasing activities to support Manufacturing and Commercial business Operations.
+ Responsible for Negotiating and contracting with Suppliers in alignment with the respective functions while focusing on quality, delivery, and cost.
+ Drive YoY cost savings thru new initiatives and bench marking across market.
+ Leading Cost Savings Workshops and create SOPs.
+ Alignment with Global teams on strategy and processes to leverage benefits.
+ Conducting regular business reviews with key suppliers and monitoring performance as per agreed deliverables.
+ Managing the end-to-end Vendor Onboarding process
+ Ensuring and monitoring compliance to all processes and policies within and at supplier end.
The essential requirements of the job include:
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 8 yrs experience or Diploma in Engineering with 12 yrs experience
+ Diploma in Purchasing Management or SCM
+ Minimum 5 years managing Direct and Indirect commodities
+ Experience in Medical, Pharma or FMCG industry
+ Experience in developing and implementing commodity Strategy
+ Proficiency in MS Office, PPT and ERP system(SAP)
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
+ Working in Manufacturing environment
+ Co-ordinating with multiple locations
