Job Responsibilities:
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Purchasing Manager to join our team. The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, supplies, and services. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent negotiation abilities, and a deep understanding of procurement strategies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in procurement, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement procurement strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure on-time delivery of materials, supplies, and services.
Source and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate favorable terms, and establish strong supplier relationships to ensure consistent and reliable supply.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Engineering, Operations, and Finance, to align procurement activities with organizational goals and requirements.
Monitor and analyze market trends, supplier performance, and industry best practices to identify potential risks and opportunities.
Supervise the procurement team, providing guidance, coaching, and training to ensure high performance and adherence to procurement policies and procedures.
Manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.
Review and negotiate contracts with suppliers, addressing any issues and ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
Develop and maintain a supplier evaluation system to assess supplier performance, and implement improvement plans where necessary.
Optimize inventory levels through effective inventory management strategies, minimizing shortages and reducing excess stock.
Prepare and present reports on procurement activities and cost savings to senior management.
Education / Experience /Special Knowledge / Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing or automotive industry.
Deep knowledge of procurement processes, strategies, and best practices.
Strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
Proficient in using procurement software and tools.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Understanding of contract management and legal aspects of procurement.
Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) are a plus.
