Purchasing Manager (Aerospace)
JSG is seeking a Purchasing Manager for our Aerospace & Defense client in Woodland Hills, CA. This is a direct hire opportunity.  

Position Purpose/Summary:
The Purchasing Manager is a highly skilled role within our client's company and will be responsible for strategically implementing Long-Term Agreements with suppliers to reduce costs and increase inventory turns. The Purchasing Manager plays a pivotal role focusing on continuous improvement, people development and supplier delivery performance. This position will have duties in sourcing, procuring, and managing the supply chain for the products and commodities essential to the their business.

Essential Responsibilities/Duties
In the performance of their respective tasks and duties all employees are expected to conform to the following: Leads a team of operational buyers that are responsible for ensuring delivery in line with operational performance requirements from suppliers. Accountable for the management of the people within the operational procurement team ensuring that PDP, development plans and succession planning. Ensuring that the people within the operational procurement team have the adequate skills to carry out their roles, where skills gaps are identified, putting training and development plans in place to address them. Responsible for application across the team of supplier scheduling in line with MPS and the accuracy of supplier and procured parts data within the MRP system to ensure that demand signals minimize shortages and eliminate unwanted inventory. Accountable for External Scheduling, Vendor Scheduling, Purchase Orders and Point of Use Accountable for embedding standard procurement process into the operational procurement team including a daily start of shift meeting, a weekly or monthly KPI’s and objectives meeting and maintaining a daily regimen with all employees. Working closely with other operational procurement teams to ensure standardization of procurement process. Accountable for the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process in regard to external supply reviews Development and delivery of continuous improvement plans for operational procurement. Being the senior escalation point with the supplier for any issues relating to supplier performance. Accountable for ensuring that regular supplier business reviews are held with all key suppliers. Accountable for internal customer relationships Accountable for budgetary control for the Purchasing team. In charge of supplier LTA’s PO Reviews with upper management Contract and sourcing team Proactive with issues and problems in a forthright manner Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision. Interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers. Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations. Follow company safety policies and procedures. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications  Education/Experience:       Knowledge: Understands contract negotiations Expert in budgeting and cost control Skills: A demonstrated ability to build relations with a supplier network and having insight in suppliers processes. A track record of Leadership to work with cross functional teams. Licenses/Certifications:       Preferences Professional certification (APICS, CPIM) BA, BS, BBS or other advanced or technical degree/certification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administrations, or other commensurate experience 10-15+ years Aerospace fastener buying experience. 10+ years in procurement management Government Contract Compliance and Flow-down Experience leading Direct, Indirect and CapEx or budget spend. Previous and significant experience with an international supply base. Work Requirements
Requires ability to travel up to 25% which may include international company teams, client, vendor, or supplier visits.  Employee should have a passport and/or visa depending on the country’s requirements.
