NATIONAL MEDAL OF HONOR MUSEUM
The National Medal of Honor Museum in Arlington, Texas will serve as the premier national institution dedicated to the stories, impact, and legacy of the service members who went on to become Medal of Honor recipients. Neither a war memorial nor a military museum, the National Medal of Honor Museum is a humbling endeavor that will take visitors on a narrative journey through the life stories of ordinary people who made extraordinary choices above and beyond the call of duty. The museum footprint encompasses over 100,000 square feet, cornering five acres of waterfront in Arlington, Texas. Over 31,000 square feet of Exhibition Galleries as well as dedicated spaces for meetings, symposiums, memorials, and ceremonies.
THE ROLE
The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for effectively and profitably managing and directing all day-to-day aspects of purchasing for the National Medal of Honor Museum. This includes but is not limited to food and beverage and operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Responsible for creating inventory/order spread sheets. Work with the management team to assist with daily orders including the coordination of delivery and distribution of products to be utilized in the café, catering kitchen, and/or additional operating departments. Work closely with culinary team to maximize ordering efficiency, product deliveries, and inventory allocation. Spot check vendor invoices and pricing, ensuring that Legends is receiving the best possible product and the best rate. Submit bulk of daily purchasing to suppliers. Develop and sustain knowledge and relationships relating to distributors and vendors within the local market. Monitor inventory, ensuring product is being rated and control spoilage. Supervise maintenance of facilities, material handling, equipment, and inventory storage control. Conduct and organize monthly inventories for storage space. Coordinate with relative parties on inventory counts and the movement of product and merchandise. Code all invoices to proper outlet for payment processing. Track and monitor tardiness, call outs, and administer progressive disciplinary actions per legends policy. Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from Management. Maintain efficient centralized storage operation by establishing control procedures for cataloging, inventory control, bulk storage and distribution of materials, equipment and supplies and assist in maintaining this supply system. Coordinate all storage activities with National Medal of Honor Museum management officials and vendor representatives. Oversee and control all products that enter and leave the storage locations and responsible for accuracy of transfers. Maintain organization of food & beverage storage locations. Assist with the preparation of the annual fiscal budget and business plan for the upcoming year. Comply with established company policies and procedures. Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required from View Boston Management team.QUALIFICATIONS

College degree is preferred. Bachelor of Science degree in hotel/restaurant management is desirable. A combination of practical experience and education will be considered as an alternative Have a minimum of 3 years of supply chain management experience Proficient in the following dimensions of restaurant functions: procurement/supply chain management, inventory analysis skills, sanitation, service standards, staffing and employee management, and financial reporting Able to organize time effectively, forward plan and prioritize tasks to ensure workload is balanced and urgent situations are dealt with immediately. Ability to multitask and delegate duties when necessary Ability to lift and transport items weighing up to 30 lbs. Ability to read, speak and write English language to interact with staff and guests, additional language skills would be a distinct advantage and benefit A genuine interest and understanding in food and drink – wine and cocktail knowledge is essential Ability to think on your feet and under pressure while maintaining a positive outlook and attention to detail Must be punctual and dependable Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as neededCOMPENSATION
