Job Summary The Purchasing/Procurement agent is responsible for procuring the best quality equipment, goods and services at competitive rates. Responsibilities Research, interview and negotiate with suppliers of materials, equipment or supplies, and evaluate them for availability, lead time, price, quality, and terms of sale. Prepare and solicit Request for Proposals and evaluate based on price, lead time, existing agreements, and/or competitive bidding. Maintain procurement records such as items or services purchased, cost, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories. Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment. Negotiations and collaborations with vendors to leverage competitive price, service or availability. Serve as liaison between vendors and finance to resolve financial challenges, and other issues as they arise Review purchase order claims for conformance to company policy. Collaboration with staff members for meeting the requirements. Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers. Arrange for the disposal of surplus materials. Approve invoices and bills for materials, subcontractors. Qualifications Minimum 3+ years of purchasing experience electrical utility industry or construction Must be local to Central Fl Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Excel (Intermediate to Advanced), Word and Outlook Ability to read/interpret blueprints, drawings or other technical material is preferred Ability to communicate effectively and work well in a team environment Physical Demands and Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and scanners. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is primarily sedentary, with some filing or lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
