Our entry level Purchasing Representative position allows you to join a dynamic and growing Purchasing team. The Purchasing Department at SHI procures over $10 Billion of Information Technology (IT),  including computer related hardware, software, licensing and services from a network of over 50,000 vendors, both domestically and internationally. The main responsibilities of the Purchasing Representative involve resolving order issues, processing Purchase Orders (POs) electronically with IT vendors and following up on POs to ensure customer satisfaction.

 

This position will be required to report into our Bethlehem, PA office location and we will provide training!

Include, but are not limited to:

Review sales orders created by our SHI sales teamProcess SHI Purchase Orders (POs) with a large number of IT vendors using a variety of ordering methods, such as electronic ordering (EDI/XML)Resolve order issues with SHI Sales Representatives and our IT vendorsExpedite and follow up with vendors to ensure accurate and timely delivery of purchase ordersForm and maintain vendor relationships to meet SHI’s performance, efficiency and pricing requirementsResearch past orders to resolve issues and reconcile open PO transactionsActively communicate and interact with various internal departments including Inside Sales, Accounting, Hardware, Licensing, Warehouse and our Technical teamsDevelop familiarity with our IT vendors and make sourcing decisions to pick best vendor based on performance, pricing and/or availabilityIssue quotes and interact with SHI customersObtain vendor quotesCreate parts and vendorsReconcile vendor invoices and set up for payment Qualifications Degree or relevant work experience required Required Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to learn fast, absorb knowledge and apply newly learned informationAbility to work effectively within all levels of an organization, both internally and externallyAbility to work both individually and in a team environmentExcellent problem solving, organizational, and time management skillsAbility to think creatively and find solutions to issuesDetail oriented with the ability to multitask and complete tasks with efficiency and accuracyAbility to self-manage, take initiative and be resourcefulExcellent follow up skills

Bachelor's DegreeMicrosoft Office experienceFamiliarity with various computer products and programs  Unique Requirements May need to work after hours, once every other month, to ensure orders that need to be processed have been received and completed for End Of Month On rare occasion (i.e. once every other year), our Purchasing Representatives may need to be "on call" and work on a weekend Additional Information The estimated annual pay range for this position is $36,000 - $42,000 which includes a base salary and bonuses. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual.
