Purchasing Specialist
Description We are partnering with our client in the Dayton, NJ area to find an adept Purchasing Specialist to join their team. This pivotal role involves managing procurement activities across key categories such as corrugate, warehouse supplies and equipment, office essentials, and IT hardware. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate strong negotiation skills, ERP expertise, and strategic procurement practices, with room to grow into department leadership over time. Key Responsibilities: + Lead all procurement processes, ensuring efficient sourcing of corrugate, warehouse materials, office supplies, and IT hardware. + Prepare and execute RFPs, and negotiate contracts to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms. + Leverage robust ERP knowledge (Microsoft Dynamics D365) to streamline purchasing workflows and enhance operational efficiency. + Utilize advanced tools, including Excel, Salesforce, Warehouse Management Systems, Chef, and Epicor, to improve procurement outcomes and reporting accuracy. + Collaborate closely with accounts payable to maintain accurate and up-to-date financial processing. + Continuously evaluate and implement best practices to drive efficient procurement strategies, ultimately facilitating the growth and scalability of the department. + Serve as a liaison between internal teams and external partners, maintaining transparency and alignment on purchasing objectives. + Apply expertise in enterprise solutions like About Time to ensure timely procurement and process efficiency. Requirements + Experienced Purchasing Specialist with a strong track record in procurement and supply chain management. + Advanced knowledge of ERP systems with hands-on experience in Epicor and other solutions. + Skilled in using 'About Time' software for workflow management. + Strong understanding of accounting, including Accounts Payable processes and principles. + Extensive background in wholesale distribution buying strategies. + Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
