Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Purchasing Supplier Development (PSD) - Buying Department is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Analyst for Manufacturing Indirect Purchasing located in Georgetown, KY.

The primary responsibility of this role is to develop sourcing strategies, cost analysis/standards, and quality metrics to ensure Toyota maintains a sustainable competitive advantage through its North American supply chain. 

The person in this role will support PSD’s objective to develop our outsourced supply base to ensure overall best cost, quality, manufacturability, and operational self-reliance.  The candidates should consistently demonstrate attributes of next level capability as outlined in the Toyota Core Competencies and meets expectations of current position.

What you’ll be doing

Sourcing, pricing, and cost management for various indirect commodities/assets/services supporting the ongoing operations at North American Manufacturing Companies (NAMCs) as well as the strategic commodities across the various NAMCs, including Production Engineering procurement.

Develop sourcing strategies, which result in supply base optimization.

Negotiate with supplier partners for cost savings and avoidance utilizing competitive benchmarking of detailed cost elements and analysis of cost variance.

Lead Price Review including Gentani level with suppliers to promote deep understanding of cost drivers. 

Establish and assess cost standards to reach a consistent, efficient approach to pricing, including timely payment issuance.

Report accurately and timely to all project milestones including reporting out to top management on creation of target & achievement to such target, including identifying and negotiating all change orders and VE ideas.

Execute strategy and work closely with related divisions to ensure targets and due dates are met.

Understand and analyze respective commodity market trends to ensure Toyota is using the right supplier candidates and technologies.

Act as a resource to plant personnel to understand their purchasing requirements, educate them on purchasing procedures, and lead the purchasing process in the most efficient manner.

Lead negotiations with suppliers and internal functional areas to resolve commercial issues.

What you bring 

Bachelor's degree or higher.

Professional experience in a buying and/or procurement role, including responsibility for detailed quotation analysis and supplier negotiations of product or manufacturing cost for $1M or more.

Experience with gap analysis and identifying trends with large scale data sets.

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (including macros, pivot tables, VLOOKUP).

Added bonus if you have

Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management.

Professional experience in Indirect Buying role, including responsibility for analysis and negotiation of automotive product or services and manufacturing cost.

Experience with RFQ (Request for Quotation) procurement system, including cost and supply base strategy analysis.

Working experience with Microsoft Power BI (including data importation, slicer manipulation, report creation and troubleshooting).

Completed Toyota Business Practice (TBP).

Experience with People Soft and/or SAP/Ariba.

Experience with shop floor systems.
