Purified Water Lead
**Description** The Purified Water System and Clean Lab Gas Systems Lead will supervise day to day operations involved in repair, maintenance, service, troubleshooting, operation and monitoring of the purified water systems on site, in order to maintain a continuous state of operations for the purposes of research and manufacturing of pharmaceutical products. You will make management level decisions, providing approval for procedurally defined activities and reviewing documentation and work performed by technicians and contractors to maintain and/or improve system operation. This role will also include analyzing operations and determining required system upgrades / improvements in order to optimize operation. You will collaborate with Validation, Calibration and Automation to plan / implement changes and lead problem solving activities. You will also collaborate with GFE colleagues providing purified water design and implementation support for engineering projects and perform all documentation activities to comply with FDA/EU and GXP regulations and guidelines. Our competitive compensation and benefit programs reflect Boehringer Ingelheim's high regard for our employees. **Duties & Responsibilities** + Serve as Purified Water System Owner, supervising day to day operations involved in repair, maintenance, service, troubleshooting, operation and monitoring of the purified water systems. Create / modify PM's for these systems. + Plan and coordinating activities to support end users with minimal disruption to service/minimizing downtime. + Serve as purified water SME providing training/mentoring of technicians as well as providing direction and coordination of work performed by outside contractors. + Make management level decisions, providing approval for procedurally defined activities and reviewing work performed by technicians and contractors as applicable + Work in collaboration with Validation, Calibration and Automation to plan and implement changes. + Collaborate with GFE colleagues in the design and implementation of engineering projects in regards to purified water. Lead problem solving activities and provide recommendations both within GFE and non-GFE owned systems (e.g. animal drinking water). + Serve as document review for technician work, including but not limited to logbooks, PMs, filter testing, system suitability testing. + Operate the current Computerized Maintenance Management System for work order processing. This position serves as the first line of escalation for questions technicians may have with the system. + Author/edit GxP purified water procedures. Establish best practices for system operation, monitoring and maintenance. + Maintain adequate spare parts inventory of critical items and other duties as assigned. **Requirements** + High school diploma or equivalent required and five (5-8) years’ experience in purified water or other mechanical or process control system. + One to three (1-3) years supervisory experience. + Ability to lift 50lbs. + Respond to off hours emergency calls. Some overtime weekday or weekends may be required based upon the resourcing provided by the Outsourced vendors. During this type of event, systems must be kept operational. + Influencing level of business and technical as well as policy and procedure knowledge required to act as Purified Water System Owner. + Collaborate cross functionally in order to ensure best practices and site standards are maintained. + Experience in mentoring/training in a technical discipline. + Ability to work independently with a focus on customer service to plan and coordinate activities for technicians and contractors with minimal disruption to end users. **Compensation Data** This position offers a base salary typically between $75,000.00 and $147,000.00 USD. The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance based bonus and or other compensation elements.
