The Plant Vehicle Team (PVT) Engineer is a member of Ford Motor Company's Product Development organization, co-located at the Dearborn Truck Plant (DTP) along with the Operations team. The PVT Engineer for a given Function has several responsibilities associated with analyzing and improving the Quality of the Ford F-150 built in Dearborn, MI. The PVT engineer utilizes Quality metrics derived early in the life of vehicles and works on addressing error states to improve Quality for our customers.
The PVT Engineer works as a part of the Variability Reduction team which is comprised of members from various Skill Teams at Ford. The work is fast-paced and involves absorbing information from numerous sources, both internal and external to the company, drilling down and assessing the information in an effort to reduce variability at the component and system levels. The work is challenging and requires hours of sustained application while operating within the cadence of an Assembly Plant.
