Description:
· The Software Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for analyzing, testing, automating and resolving technical issues to ensure that developed products meet specified design specifications and are compliant with established standards.

· The SQE creates automated tests including regression and smoke tests.

· Works closely with developers to quickly diagnose and resolve issues.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Responsible for planning, creation and execution of manual tests and automated tests using an automated scripting tool for Web applications and services (Selenium, SOAPUI etc.)

· Develop testing strategy, plans, estimates, and schedule, to support projects and product releases

· Collaborate with project and development teams to ensure coordination of testing efforts to test plans

· Lead/execute functional and user acceptance test cycles; set up QA environment with hardware/software configurations needed

· Evaluate and/or implement tools needed for test automation and understand the concepts behind automation and when to implement it.

· Develop templates, tools, metrics and best practices to verify products to meet business and user requirements

· Participate in all reviews necessary to ensure quality in the product - requirements, design, status, code

· Provide documentation to management and project teams to determine release readiness of products or product features

· Analyzes and ensures requirements/User Story acceptance criteria are acceptable for test case creation.

· Familiar with a variety of testing procedures including automated test tools, test script automation and metrics collection/assessment

· Identify, recommend and implement mitigation strategies to keep project work on track


QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION:

· 3+ years related experience testing software applications or performing QA activities

· Experience with modern web testing methodology/practice using tools such as Selenium, FitNesse, etc.

· BS Degree in computer science, information technology or related field preferred

· Must have Agile methodology experience and ability to collaborate with team members

· Ability to work with project cycles and in various technical architectures

· Ability to manage high volume working environment with multiple priorities simultaneously with aggressive deadlines

· Familiarity with tools such as JIRA to track tasks and issues; create pre-release and release templates that include all common user stories and tasks; add additional tasks for sprint planning.
