Job Summary:


As a Quality Assurance Coordinator in the chocolate industry, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all products meet stringent quality and safety standards. Collaborating with BCMI staff, Regional and Global BC teams, and external entities (principally customers and suppliers), you will act as a key liaison, coordinating QA information across stakeholders and maintaining a strong presence on the shop floor.

Additionally, given the need for laboratory technician support during weekends and bank holidays, the QA Coordinator will assist with lab-related tasks during the week to ensure operational continuity and uphold quality assurance processes.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Customer Complaints Management: Handle customer complaints related to product quality by investigating issues, implementing corrective actions, and communicating outcomes. Manage returns, analyze trends, and develop action plans. Quality Control and Stock Management: Develop and enforce quality assurance protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Manage blocked stock, including transfers from other sites, and evaluate stock disposition. Quality Training: Lead initiatives such as QA talks, Teamboards, Gembas, Nemotos, and quality-focused activities to improve quality awareness and share Barry Callebaut standards and procedures. Traceability and Audits: Ensure effective traceability systems and actively participate in internal and external audits. SKU Management: Coordinate the transfer and introduction of new products. Sensory and Application Tests: Organize and execute sensory evaluations and application tests. Stakeholder Coordination: Oversee tasks such as CoA/CoC profile reviews, product meetings, QA rules for logistics, and flushing procedures. Packaging Improvements: Propose and implement enhancements to packaging. Lab Support: Assist with laboratory tasks when required, including: Quality control testing Inspection and testing Surface swabs

 

 

Qualifications:

 

Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related field. Previous experience in Quality Assurance, preferably in the food or chocolate industry. Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, FSSC 22000). Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently. Proactive mindset to improve efficiency. Effective communication and teamwork skills.

 

 

Preferred Skills:

 

Experience with laboratory testing methods and food quality equipment. Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., FSSC 22000). Knowledge of chocolate production processes. Proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
