QA MANAGER

 

This position is responsible for the following: defining, maintaining, and administering of testing standards and adherence to the Software Development Methodology; overseeing and directing all aspects of testing responsibilities; personnel management functions that include but are not limited to: performance appraisals and management; administration and execution of interviewing, hiring and termination activities; providing guidance to staff in the development of project test plans, test criteria, and analysis of testing outputs; assisting team members with development of personal goals and defining training opportunities; and assigning projects/tasks to team members as necessary.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

1. Defines system test environment needs.

2. Defines entry and exit criteria for System Testing projects as outlined in the SDLC, and advises approval to move to the UAT phase.

3. Communicates test results to the appropriate parties in a timely and professional manner.

4. Interacts with testers, developers, business users, PMO and Project Sponsors to promote project success.

5. Performs basic Project Management functions on all assigned testing projects to include (but not limited to):

(a) the development of land management to testing workplans and timelines

(b) status reporting to the applicable project team and management

(c) resource planning and management

6. Complies with all company mandated training and policies.

7. Assists in planning and preparation of the department operating budget.

8. Assists in planning and preparation of the department staffing plan.

9. Acts as a change agent in alignment with organizational transformation efforts.

10. Designs, implements and makes ongoing changes to organizational structure in order to provide flexibility and accommodate multi project plans. Clearly describes and presents highly complex system change information to testing staff as well as operational staff located in the business.

11. Reviews and analyzes department objectives to identify and address immediate training needs, quantity deficiencies, and forecast future manpower and equipment needs. Provides focus and objectives to personnel by communicating priorities and assignments.

12.Provides effective training program for assigned personnel. Ensures work is at acceptable levels. Provides technical and professional assistance and support all levels of management throughout the corporation i.e., Membership, Finance, Claims, Billing, etc.

13. Ensures that team members consistently develop and maintain project test deliverables in adherence to SDLC. Participates in reviews of requirements, specifications and other project artifacts as requested/required.

14. Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with co-workers, management, customers, etc.

15. Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies and other applicable corporate and departmental policies.

16. Maintain complete confidentiality of company business.

17. Maintain communication with management regarding development within areas of assigned responsibilities and perform special projects as required or requested.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 

* Supervisory/Management experience.

* Budget planning and execution experience.

* Bachelor Degree in Business or Technology OR Technical Certification or College Courses with 4 years experience OR 5 years experience.

* Experience with HP Quality Center, or other automated software test suites.

* Experience working in a CMMI Level 2 or higher level organization.

* Experience or certification in Project Management.

* Ability to develop and maintain relationships at various levels within the organization.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
