ITW Hartness is looking for a Quality Technician. This individual will work as part of the Hartness Quality team to conduct inspections and audits based on the quality standards and company specifications. Individuals in this role will also work with manufacturing and assembly to facilitate corrective actions on any quality and production issues identified. Quality technicians will collaborate with engineers, team leads, and supervisors, to ensure quality standards are in place and being implemented.

 

What you will do:

You will perform detailed mechanical inspection of all parts and / or assembliesYou will review drawings and specifications to compare to parts and product receivedYou will visually inspect coloring and coatings of parts based on routingYou will locate and measure dimensions such as overall length, width, diameter, angles, and holesYou will ensure that all engineering drawings provide the necessary clarity for manufacturability and inspectionYou will ensure that all non-conforming parts and assemblies are identified, quarantined, and documentedYou will communicate vendor and outsource vendor performance to ensure qualityYou will communicate with other departments for all questionable and / or non-conforming partsYou will implement methods and procedures for inspecting and evaluating the precision and accuracy of all productsYou will partner with engineering and team leads to resolve issues in a timely mannerYou will review daily list of parts for due dates to ensure on time deliveryAssist with 80/20 projectsOther duties as assigned

QualificationsHigh School degree (or equivalent) and 3 years of related work experience OR associate degree in a related fieldFamiliar with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) to be able to create reports and send/receive emailsAbility to read mechanical blueprints and electrical schematicFamiliar with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)Proficient math and measuring skills Welding and Machine shop experience is a plusBeing detail-orientedAbility to use attribute gages, all basic and specialized measuring instrumentsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsGood organizational, time management, and prioritization skillsAbility to stand or walk for an entire shiftCapable of lifting 35lbs
