Responsibilities:
Be a leader contributing to the production of safe, legal and quality product.
Assist QA Manager with development and implementation of food safety and quality programs.
Provide backup for the Quality Programs in absence of QA Manager.
Must be able to conduct trace exercises to completion with no additional assistance.
Must be able to coordinate large trace exercises which involve multiple persons and be able to complete the summary of the event.
Familiar with the notification process associated with mock recalls.
Need to be familiar with all QA procedures and practices. Must be able to provide backup to QA Technicians during absences.
Assist QA Manager by conducting internal system audits for compliance with GFSI.
Assist with training of new QA Technicians. May require adjustment of schedules to complete the necessary training
Must be familiar with all programs, including computer programs associated with the specialties listed below. Be able to understand upgrades and provide training to others within the department.
Assist Quality Assurance Manager in other areas or projects as assigned.
Individual Lab Specialists will be SME’s on subjects as defined below

Qualifications/Education/Experience/Skills
QA Specialist will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME), for the plant, in specific areas of the Quality program. These include, but not limited to: Micro programs, Traceability, Warehouse systems, Pest management, Quality Training.
Communicate with IT regarding these programs for a full understanding of all aspects.
Able to develop and conduct training sessions for these specific programs within the plant.
Responsible for attending training programs within and outside the company to stay up to date on all changes on these programs.
Responsible for the keeping, organization, tracking, and summaries of all data with the specialty.
