SummaryThis role is responsible for ensuring that finished products shipped to customers and raw materials received from suppliers conform to specifications and industry regulations. Assists in organizing and auditing product quality programs throughout the receiving, manufacturing, packaging, and shipping process. Investigating quality problems experienced by customers and developing remedial action in collaboration with the responsible departments. Ensuring compliance with Federal and State feed regulations in all states where product is shipped. Under direction of management, acts as the liaison with State and Federal regulatory agencies in matters pertaining to production operations. Monitors production methods, risk management, product safety and quality, and provides appropriate input to management decisions in regard to these areas. Acts as central point to develop written programs detailing policies and procedures related to production; utilizing input from various sources.
Key Responsibilities Maintain appropriate records and paperwork to meet state and federal regulations as wellas all third-party certification requirements. Ensures appropriate feedback of quality information to Operations Manager. Direct the administrative activities of the department and maintain records of all product quality checks. Provide appropriate records and reports to customers and manage correspondence between the affected parties. Ensure compliance with all state and federal required regulations for products. Monitor and manage product specification compliance issues, including recordkeeping for FSMA. Communicating individual state requirements to Management and the Sales Team. Oversee and maintain accurate recordkeeping per the FDA Bioterrorism Act 2002. This includes daily, monthly, and yearly requirements by the FDA. Ensures assigned functions including complaint investigations, product specifications, procedure maintenance, production issues and investigations are handled in an accurate and timely manner. Demonstrates leadership as a member of plant production team by actively participating in operator team meetings and offering assistance to operators when needed. Assess feedback given by customers, clients, and personnel and report to Management. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
