QC Inspector / Assembler (2nd Shift)
**Job Title: QC Inspector / Assembler (2nd Shift)** **Job Description** We are seeking a QC Inspector / Assembler for a machine shop that fabricates parts for the oil and gas industry, primarily bearings and seals for rotating equipment. This role involves quality inspection of parts according to blueprints and given tolerances, mainly inspecting bearings and seals. Additionally, you will perform smaller assembly tasks after machining and float around the shop for various tasks. Part dimensions range from 1" ID to 36" OD and up to 12" in length, made of materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, babbitt, and exotics. Potential future responsibilities include Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), primarily dye penetrant testing. **Responsibilities** + Inspect parts according to blueprints and specified tolerances. + Perform quality control on bearings and seals. + Assemble parts post-machining. + Float to various tasks around the shop as needed. + Measure parts using equipment such as micrometers and calipers. + Read and interpret blueprints for assembly and inspection tasks. + Potentially conduct NDT inspections, primarily dye penetrant testing. **Requirements** + 3+ years of quality control experience. + Assembly experience. + Proficiency in blueprint reading. + Experience with measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers. + Quality assurance and quality inspection skills. **Why Work Here?** Join a well-known bearing manufacturer in the industry with multiple operating cells across the country. Work in a clean, air-conditioned shop maintained at around 72°F to prevent material warping. **Work Environment** The medium-sized shop is clean and air-conditioned at around 72°F. It is organized yet busy, with parts everywhere. The team includes 27 employees on the day shift and 23 on the afternoon shift, including CNC machinists, manual machinists, QC inspectors, welders, assemblers, and general laborers. The shop has a mixed tenure, with many employees having extensive experience in the bearing industry. The 2nd shift operates Monday to Thursday from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, Friday from Noon to 8:30 PM, and voluntary half-day Saturdays. Future mandatory Saturdays are possible if work volume increases. Average weekly hours are around 50.
