Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated 3rd Shift QC Lab Technician who can handle multiple functions in a fast-paced environment. This role involves performing basic QC testing, interacting with customers to implement product changes, and working alongside another technician during the night shift. The position requires cross-training on fuel testing and involves performance checking instruments, testing remanufactured products, solvents, and specialties.
ResponsibilitiesPerform all duties and responsibilities within the guidelines of the Vision, Mission, Quality Policy, and Environmental Management Statements.Utilize procedures to prevent product, service, and process non-conformances.Identify and record any problems and find solutions through prescribed problem-solving methods.Effectively implement solutions for problems and control the use of non-conforming products, services, or processes.Monitor and improve respective measurables.Ensure that environmental issues are managed according to legal requirements, the environmental policy, and good management practices.Maintain an awareness of significant environmental impacts and the benefits of improved environmental performance.Understand both the Communications and the Emergency Preparedness and Response Procedures.Perform analytical procedures according to work instructions.Assist in developing analytical procedures.Perform calibration and/or standardization on instruments.Report out-of-range performance checks and batch ticket results to management.Issue a shift report daily.Calculate purge formulas using analytical results and the purge calculator.Calculate RVP and additive hits for fuels.Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies using a Kanban system.Enter analytical results into an ERP system.Analyze statistical data with the use of control charts.Support customer requests for analyzing purge and fuel samples.Attend meetings as requested.Maintain general housekeeping of workspace.Comply with laboratory safety regulations.Essential SkillsBachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Biology with applicable experience.QC or analytical experience in a lab setting, which could include school experience.Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with customers.Versatility to handle process changes and communicate errors/changes to customers.Experience with titrations, wet chemistry, and gas chromatography (GC) in school or a lab setting.Additional Skills & QualificationsQC experience in a manufacturing or industrial lab setting.Experience testing fuels and solvents.Work Environment
You will work in both the lab and the plant periodically. The lab and office setting is very clean and features excellent newer equipment. The shift is Sunday-Thursday, 11 PM - 7:30 AM. Training takes place on the 1st shift and could last about a month or until fully trained, typically from 7 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday-Friday.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
