Job Description
The QC Lab Technician will be responsible for performing in-process and finished product testing. This role will be 75% lab work and 25% administrative/paperwork. The technician will maintain laboratory equipment, identify malfunctions, and perform simple repairs or coordinate repairs as necessary. The technician will also update standard operating procedures, follow all procedures related to data documentation, laboratory safety, and good laboratory practices, and review test data, calculations, and results for accuracy and completion.
ResponsibilitiesPerform in-process and finished product testing.Maintain laboratory equipment, identify malfunctions, and perform simple repairs or coordinate repairs as necessary.Update standard operating procedures.Follow all procedures related to data documentation, laboratory safety, and good laboratory practices.Review test data, calculations, and results for accuracy and completion.Conduct testing such as titrations, pH, assay, appearance, color, and viscosity.Perform quality control testing following USP monographs.Essential SkillsBasic laboratory experience in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related field.Experience with titration, wet chemistry, and lab testing.Ability to follow standard operating procedures and good laboratory practices.Additional Skills & QualificationsBS Degree in a laboratory science such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, etc.Work Environment
The position is on the 1st shift, working from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Overtime may be required as needed, but not on weekends. The technician will work primarily in a QC Chemistry Laboratory, with roughly 75% of the time spent in the laboratory and 25% in an office setting. The dress code is business casual. The technician will primarily interact with QC personnel but may also interact with production staff or managers as needed. Testing will be conducted on FDA/Pharma liquid-based products.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
