QC Manager (Food)

Growing Food Manufacturer in Los Angeles is seeking a seasoned Food Safety Quality Manager to lead quality audits, oversee the laboratory operations & facilitate equipment set-up. This is a direct hire opportunity. 

Salary range: $100-130K

Responsibilities:

Lead daily operations, emphasizing precision and efficiency, while implementing and enforcing quality control standards. Ensure adherence to FDA regulations.  Manage the review process, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Develop and manage a robust supplier approval process, establishing selection criteria based on quality, safety, and compliance. Collaborate with Supply Chain/Sourcing teams to foster continuous improvement. Facilitate communication between QA and innovation/R&D teams, providing regulatory insights for new product development. Lead the establishment of an in-house microbiological laboratory, including equipment procurement, SOP development, and team training. Mentor the QC team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Maintain detailed records on quality metrics, supplier assessments, compliance issues, and laboratory development.

Job Qualifications/Skills:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field. Minimum 2 years of QC management experience in the food industry, with expertise in FDA compliance, SQF, GMP, HACCP, and laboratory management. Demonstrated leadership and team development skills. Excellent organizational, communication, and analytical abilities.
