Hexcel is currently seeking a QC Mechanical Lab Supervisor for our Duxford, UK location.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

Ensure best lab practice and robust test methods.Ensure the required testing plan and on time targets are met.Liaise with Production/Lab Manager to minimize downtime and improve testing productivity.Provide relevant supporting data and information to enable customer liaison.Support training, supervision and coaching of Technicians in the various testing methods.Develop the use of 5s methodology and effective working practices across the Labs.Provide support in the review of technical documentation (including IS,IFS). Support the commissioning and implementation of new test equipment/methods - where applicable. Support the management of the department budget in partnership with the Lab Manager.Evaluate current processes against best practice and introduce modifications and additional functions where required.

Qualifications:

Technical background, ideally with experience in mechanical engineering, testing or production engineering.Experience of ERP or MRP systems with good general IT skills and perhaps LIMS experience.Knowledge of testing practices and procedures.Experience of supervising a team and managing performance.Strong communication skills, verbal and written.Awareness of ISO9001:2015, AS9100D, NADCAP and international standards would be beneficial.
