Job Summary

HRI, Inc., a leader in heavy civil construction since 1947, has an opening for an experienced and energetic QC/QA Laboratory Supervisor.

HRI has asphalt labs located in the Johnstown, Reynoldsville, Bellefonte, Williamsport, Milton, and Bloomsburg areas. We are a leader in asphalt paving, bituminous products, and heavy civil construction.

The candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter that can also function well with co-workers and customers.  Applicant will be responsible for daily functions of HRI laboratories and will be required to use process control to ensure high quality materials are produced.

Main Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day operations of HRI’s QC department Supervisor a team of hourly level 1 and level 2 technicians Oversee quality control and production operations at each asphalt plant. Conduct daily meetings with inspection staff and QC personnel to discuss Quality Results Responsible for maintaining calibrations, standardizations, and checks on test equipment. Responsible for developing Quality Control plans and enforcing the guidelines set in place. Designing and submitting PennDOT and FAA mix designs. Adapting to specification changes and ensuring products meet requirements. Conducting After Action Reviews for Quality issues with inspection staff, owners, and project personnel. Cooperating with scheduling staff to satisfy customer needs. Responsible for maintaining Laboratory Accreditations statuses. Skills Pre-construction/Pre-pave review of project specifications and requirements Review of Project testing results, sampling, and delivery of samples to DOT and HRI, Inc. lab Communication with the field to correlate with lab results Travel between all 6 plant locations Excellent communication skills Excellent organizational and time management skills Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Education High school diploma or equivalent preferred Bituminous Plant Level 2 Technician Certification required Valid driver’s license Physical Requirements Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Company safety guidelines Regularly required to use hands to move and manipulate objects Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)  Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain Frequent exposure to loud noise  Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles Required to work varying hours, including nights/weekends as required Benefits Choice of 3 Medical Plan Options Prescription Drug Coverage Dental and Vision Plans Flexible Spending Account or Health Savings Options Access to Telemedicine and Healthcare Advocacy Services Employee Assistance Program  401(k) Savings Plan with Company Match Great starting rates and excellent benefits package Sign on bonus will be awarded after 90 days of employment
