QC Safety Lead

Our client, a leading player in the exotic fruit industry, is seeking a QC Safety Lead to join their team. As a QC Safety Lead, you will be part of the Quality Control department supporting the safety and quality of produce handling. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: QC Safety Lead

Location: McAllen, TX

Pay Range: $16-$19 DOE

What's the Job?

Conduct regular inspections of produce throughout the production process, including receiving, sorting, washing, packing, and shipping to identify any quality issues. Monitor product compliance with established quality standards and specifications for appearance, size, maturity, and other relevant factors. Implement sampling procedures to test produce for quality parameters like pesticide residues, microbial contamination, and nutritional content. Ensure adherence to all food safety regulations and guidelines, including HACCP principles, to prevent foodborne illness risks. Lead food safety training programs for production staff, including proper handling, sanitation practices, and pest control procedures.

No prior experience required; a willingness to learn and grow in the field is essential. Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify quality issues effectively. Excellent communication skills to lead training and address safety concerns. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.
