Job Description
As a QC Technician, you will spend almost 100% of your time on the production floor, using computers alongside the lines to document all data and non-conformances. You will be responsible for identifying any products that are out of specification and escalating these issues to the QA Lead on staff. Regular duties include walking the lines, setting up quality equipment at the start of each shift, verifying equipment functionality, and conducting visual inspections of products to ensure they have clear labels and barcodes.
ResponsibilitiesAlways understand and demonstrate safe work practices while working.Monitor the statistical process control (SPC) software suite called Gainseeker.Monitor, measure, and document given line processes to assure conformance to product Master specifications.Examine and document packaging components and finished product assembly for conformance to product Master specifications.Program, calibrate, and assist in the setup of Hi-Speed check weighers, Videojet, and Marsh coders.Program and monitor the Automated Inventory Management system for identifying and tracking finished production.Place non-conforming product on hold for disposition by the QC Manager.Pull product retain samples.Comply with all company policies and procedures.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsExperience in a regulated environment, laboratory, or quality control.Knowledge of SOPs, GMP, quality checks, and quality inspections.Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, conversions).Strong attention to detail and ability to catch anything out of specification.Interest in learning and taking on new responsibilities.Ability to work on feet for extended periods of time.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma minimum with experience or Associate degree in a lab-related discipline.Interest in the pesticide and home protection manufacturing industry.Experience in a regulated or quality control environment is preferred but not required.Soft skills such as a strong interest in learning, attention to detail, and pride in work are important.Work Environment
You will spend almost 100% of your time in the plant, occasionally spending time in the lab but mostly on your feet conducting inspections. You will be exposed to a variety of instrumentation and cutting-edge products, providing a great opportunity to learn about the pesticide and home protection manufacturing business within crop science.
