QC TechnicianQuality Control Idaho Springs, Colorado DescriptionPosition Summary  To ensure that products comply with all specifications required. Assists with the implementation of best practices and techniques regarding quality and mix design optimization. The position assists all levels of the operation in establishing and achieving quality objectives while working closely with both operations and management.    Responsibilities Ensure all aspects of his/her role are executed safely. Obeys safety guidelines when on construction sites and Martin Marietta operations. Establish the environment as a priority in daily activities and act as a steward to the environment. Demonstrate a commitment to meet or exceed environmental compliance. Ensure good customer relations. Must be able to communicate effectively with customers.  Conducts customer site visits to assist with quality concerns, sample delivered product as needed or help troubleshoot other issues. Educates customers in proper construction techniques and application of products.  Samples products at various production facilities or customer sites and delivers to testing locations.  Prepare and perform tests that support the creation, development, and improvement of new and existing standard and specialty products. Perform quality control duties including sampling, preparing and  testing and data logging. Perform and document quality control tests following established local (City and State) and national standards. Conduct quality control tests without supervision and within the precision standards established by industry standards. Maintain a logbook of all testing conducted at the lab, plant and on-site.  Assist in the investigation and testing of new raw material sources and products. Ensure quality materials through the active testing of raw materials. Sample raw materials for validation at the lab and conduct plant adjustments as required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficient in math, reading and writing skills. Must demonstrate excellent communication skills. Being mechanically inclined is very helpful.  Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to maintain composure in situations and act professionally. Must be team oriented with ability to effectively manage conflict. Proficient with computers and technology.   Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent experience 2-5 years of related industry experience in aggregates, asphalt, or construction materials Related industry certifications are preferred.  Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Requirements Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively. Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather. Ability to stand for long periods and walk on uneven terrain. Ability to work various hours including weekends and overtime. Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled Salary Posting:We are excited to share the base range for this position and exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base hourly compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The posted range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not solely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum of the range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growth opportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may not align with internal equity. Part time employees are eligible to participate in the 401k plan and receive a company match. In addition, they are eligible to start accruing service for the pension plan.
