Your Day-to-Day:
Accountable to lead all aspects of the implementation of Quality and Environmental Health and Safety (QEHS) programs and initiatives for the Business Unit
Primary point of contact for reporting to leadership all QEHS issues and trends within the business unit
Ensure BU organizations’ products and services are compliant with the Westinghouse Management System and procedures as well as applicable government or regulatory requirements
Ensure applicable QEHS standards and procedures are implemented as necessary
Ensure customer quality requirements and concerns are communicated across organizations and addressed
Monitor and analyze quality metrics for trends and drive improvement efforts as needed
Assist BU in the preparation and execution of external audits necessary to maintain customer and regulatory compliance or third-party certifications (i.e. ISO 9001, ISO 19443, NUPIC, ASME, RCCM etc.)
Collaborate with Corporate Quality and EHS leadership and the BU representatives to establish and implement global BU QEHS initiatives that meet organizational business needs as well as Corporate expectations
Effectively lead efforts to influence, communicate and implement programs that continually improve the quality of the products and services, the overall health of the Westinghouse management systems and processes, and applicable occupational and environmental health and safety programs within the Business Unit
Represent the Business Unit based on organizational feedback associated with Corporate QEHS proposed processes, procedures and tool changes and collaborate with Corporate QEHS to find a resolution path that addresses concerns yet fulfills the overall Westinghouse initiative/goal.
Lead the change management communications and implementation of new/improved programs, processes, and procedures within the business unit by understanding site concerns and helping to remove roadblocks associated with implementation
Ensure quality program and product quality data integrity meets expectations and allows for accurate reporting at the various BU levels; analyze data to identify trends and risks; regularly communicate reporting results with BU leadership for awareness and action development as required
Actively participate in QEHS governance councils and steering committees as requested
Support continual improvement initiatives associated with improving the efficiency and effectiveness of global QEHS processes, procedures, and tools.
Communicate the importance and facilitate finding support for internal QEHS audits
Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:
BS degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
10+ years of experience working globally with quality related topics
ISO 9001, ISO 19443, NQA-1, RCCM, and other international regulations and standards knowledge and working experience
Strong understanding of and experience with quality principles, quality tools, and ability to be a change agent
Experience in leading and motivating a matrix workforce with a strong bias toward driving and delivering results
Ability to manage dual reporting relationship using open and honest communication and influencing decisions that provides the best alignment and outcome for Westinghouse
Must be adaptable, flexible, and able to function effectively in a highly complex, fast-paced global environment
Capable of integrating Technical knowledge with business acumen to influence and gain alignment on processes/programs within the organizations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills that provide clear and concise information and influence desired decision-making and outcomes at various levels of BU and Westinghouse leadership
Fosters teamwork through collaboration, communications, and an understanding of QEHS goals and objectives as they relate to business needs.
Ability to gain cooperation and build relationships across organizational boundaries.
Takes accountability and responsibility for decisions and actions associated with Quality and EHS efforts within BU.
Ability to recognize and take advantage of opportunities to improve productivity, drive process efficiencies and meet immediate business needs in new, innovative ways.
Actively participates and challenges the status quo through active listening and having a questioning attitude
Self-starter, ability to handle multiple projects with time constraints concurrently and requires minimal direction on how to achieve objectives
